your activities produce. To help the environment and lessen the impact of global
climate change, we all need to reduce our individual carbon footprint. One of the

The C02 emissions from a gallon of gasoline is calculated at 19.4 lbs and based
on statistics from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
The C02 emissions per mile for a bus is calculated at 50% capacity and based on
statistics from the Sightline Institute.

- Did you know that in addition to riding the bus, planting trees can help offset your carbon footprint? For every 50 lbs of C02 emitted, you would need to plant 1 tree to store it. So, both activities lower your carbon footprint and reduce the strain on the environment.
- Annually, a total of 4.2 billion gallons of gasoline are saved as a result of public
transportation. Those who ride public transportation save almost 4 million gallons
of gasoline per day.
- Public transportation reduces the nation’s carbon emissions
by 37 million metric tons annually. Thirty-seven million metric tons of carbon emissions
